Wild Soul Was Built for This 💪
2.23.26
Hey Wild Souls 🌟,
I came across some fascinating research this week and couldn’t wait to share it with you — because it connects beautifully with why we do what we do here. A large Harvard-linked study found that people who regularly mix up their physical activities have a significantly lower risk of premature death — even more so than people who just do one type of workout consistently.
👉 Why this matters:
Regular movement is huge — we already know that — but this research highlights that how we move is just as important. Engaging your body in different ways helps you stay strong, resilient, and adaptable for life’s ups and downs.
And that’s exactly what Wild Soul is all about 💛
🌀 Move in Every Direction — Here’s How We Support Variety
You don’t have to be an elite athlete (or even a gym rat) to reap these benefits — you just need a mix of fun, purposeful movement. At Wild Soul, we offer a whole spectrum of ways to move your body, including:
✨ Barre
Low-impact, high-burn strength work that builds muscular endurance, balance, and deep core stability.
🧘 Pilates & Yoga
Intentional, breath-connected movement that strengthens from the inside out — supporting posture, mobility, nervous system regulation, and recovery.
💪 Strength Training
Foundational resistance work that builds muscle, protects bone density, supports metabolism, and boosts long-term resilience.
🔥 Cardio Classes (yes to jumping jacks, never to burpees 😉)
Heart-pumping, energy-boosting sessions that improve endurance and cardiovascular health — without the dread factor.
💃 COMMIT
Our signature dance-inspired format (think Zumba vibes, but a touch more fitness-focused). It’s joyful, sweaty, empowering, and one of the most fun ways to build stamina and coordination.
🌿 Outdoor & Lifestyle Movement
Walks, pop-ups, community events, and simple everyday movement encouragement — because connection and fresh air are longevity tools, too.
💡 A Thought for the Week
Don’t think of exercise as a one-track routine you have to grind through every day. Think of it like a toolbox 🧰: each tool (strength, cardio, flexibility, balance, play) builds you up in different ways — and together they make you stronger than the sum of their parts.
Variety doesn’t just keep things interesting — it builds longevity, adaptability, and joyful living.
So this week, I challenge you:
➡️ Try at least two completely different movement types that you haven’t paired before — maybe strength + yoga, barre + COMMIT, or cardio + Pilates.
Sign up in the app, or right here, your new class awaits you!
Reply to this email and tell me what you try — I love hearing your wins.
In movement and in life,
Candace & the Wild Soul Team 💛

This week's member spotlight: Jessica! 🤩
2.5.26
Hi Wild Soul Community,
This week we’re excited to spotlight Jessica, a longtime member who brings strength, heart, and great energy to our studio.
Jessica works as a lawyer for a local non-profit civil rights organization, where she’s spent nearly 12 years advocating for tenants in housing discrimination cases. Outside of work, she loves antiquing and vintage shopping — so much so that she recently opened Rue the Day Vintage, a shop inside WeHa Vintage & More Marketplace. You’ll find a curated mix of vintage and upcycled home décor, glassware, art, and jewelry (and it’s absolutely worth a visit).
Jessica is a devoted dog mom to her rescue hound, Henry, but considers herself a plant person at heart with over 15 indoor plants and big garden plans for spring and summer. When she’s not reading Heart the Lover with her book club or watching The Traitors, you’ll find her holding it down in Tuesday/Thursday evening strength classes.
What keeps her coming back to Wild Soul? Our talented instructors, friendly and supportive community — and easy parking.
We’re so grateful to have you, Jessica 🧡
See you in class!

This Week’s Wild Soul Story: Meet Tanja ✨
1.29.26
Hi Wild Souls,
Every week, we shine a light on one of the incredible humans who make this community what it is. This week, we’re excited to introduce you to Tanja — a health coach, runner, and thoughtful, grounded presence you’ll often see bringing great energy into the studio.
🌿 Meet Tanja
Tanja’s story spans continents — originally from Germany with a Ukrainian grandmother, she’s also lived in Paris and Tours, France, before settling here in Connecticut. She describes herself as equal parts high-energy and calm: someone who loves movement and challenge, but equally values rest, balance, and resetting with a good book (or a short nap 😉).
Her personal motto, “Progress over perfection,” guides how she shows up in life — staying consistent with her values and supporting others the way she hopes to be supported herself.
💼 Her Work + Purpose
Tanja is a health and running coach who helps people reset their metabolism, build confidence, and create sustainable habits that actually fit real life. After experiencing her own major health transformation — losing 44 lbs in a healthy, sustainable way — she felt called to help others feel better in their bodies without pressure or perfection.
Her favorite part of her work? Watching people realize they’re capable of far more than they ever imagined — physically and mentally.
💛 Fun Facts + Personality
• Loves spending time with family, running, and reading
• Currently enjoying uplifting, motivational content and reading Global Mom
• Go-to order: cappuccino with almond milk
• In-between morning person — calm mornings, long evenings
• Proud cat mom to Beau and Lumière (equal parts cozy and attitude)
💪 Her Wild Soul Journey
Tanja was drawn to Wild Soul because it felt like more than just a workout — a place rooted in intentional movement, connection, and feeling good in your body. Full Body Strength classes are her favorite, especially when they blend strength and flow (bonus points for a 🔥 playlist).
Wild Soul has become her “energy button” — a midday reset that helps her feel grounded, strong, and present. What keeps her coming back?
The people. The energy. The supportive, empowering, and fun environment.
In one word, Tanja describes Wild Soul as: Empowering (women!) 😉
Help us celebrate Tanja this week — and next time you see her in class, be sure to say hi and soak up her calm, confident energy.
In strength + soul,
Candace & Heather

Why Discipline Matters More Than Motivation
1.20.26
Hi Wild Soul team,
As the New Year excitement begins to settle, I want to talk about something that comes up for all of us this time of year: motivation.
Motivation is powerful—but it’s also unpredictable. Some days it’s loud and energizing, and other days it’s nowhere to be found. And that’s completely normal. Life gets busy. Energy shifts. Moods change.
That’s why real, lasting change isn’t built on motivation alone—it’s built on discipline.
Discipline isn’t about forcing yourself or being hard on your body. It’s about commitment. It’s the quiet decision to show up even when it would be easier not to. It’s choosing movement because you know it supports you, not because you feel fired up or inspired in the moment.
Discipline looks like:
- Taking class even when you’re tired
- Modifying when your body needs it
- Coming back after a missed week
- Showing up imperfectly, but showing up anyway
Those small, consistent choices add up far more than occasional bursts of motivation ever could. Every class you take, every moment you choose movement, strength, or stillness—you’re building trust with yourself. You’re proving that you can keep promises to your body and your mind.
This season isn’t about doing more or pushing harder.
It’s about building habits that feel sustainable and supportive.
It’s about trusting that consistency—over time—creates strength, confidence, and resilience.
If you’re here, you’re already practicing discipline. And that’s something to be incredibly proud of.
Keep going. We’re cheering you on every step of the way.
When you are ready, sign up for your next class using our website or app, we can't wait to move with you!
With excitement and soul,
Candace & Heather

Member Spotlight: Meet Edie 🤩 plus we have 3 new classes! 🌵
1.13.26
Hi Wild Souls,
Each week, we highlight one of the incredible humans who make this community so special. This week, we’re excited to introduce you to Edyta — or as most of us know her, Edie — a creative spirit, history lover, and a whole lot of fun.
🌿 Meet Edie
Edie was born and raised in Poland and moved to the United States 25 years ago to pursue her education — a journey that ultimately became her home. She’s married and a proud mom of two sons who attend Conard High School.
Edie has a deep love for history, especially British history, and gravitates toward books rooted in real events and true stories. When something sparks her curiosity, she doesn’t just read about it — she travels to experience it firsthand. Her adventures have taken her across England and most recently through Spain, traveling from Madrid to Barcelona by way of the southern region.
💼 Her Work + Creative Calling
After building a successful 20-year career in the insurance industry as an IT Project Manager and Scrum Master, Edie reached a moment of transition — one that opened the door to something deeply personal.
This year, she embraced her lifelong passion for interior design, seasonal décor, tablescape artistry, and event styling by launching Edie’s Interiors & Events. Her work blends European sensibility with modern elegance, reflecting both her heritage and her creative vision.
At home, Edie is always creating. She loves cooking, baking, decorating, and hosting themed costume parties that bring people together. There’s always a project on her to-do list — most recently repainting her family room furniture, upgrading the TV accent wall, and installing new tile flooring in the hallway.
💛 Fun Facts + Personality
• Favorite movie: Under the Tuscan Sun
• Favorite shows: The Last Kingdom and Outlander
• Favorite book: How to Be a Victorian: A Dawn-to-Dusk Guide to Victorian Life
• Favorite podcast: Boring History for Sleep
• Favorite song: “Believe” by Cher
• Not a morning person — please allow coffee before conversation ☕😂
💪 Her Wild Soul Journey
When she’s not transforming her home or planning her next adventure, Edie is at Wild Soul Fitness for her regular workouts. Midday is her ideal workout time, and she loves strength training with Candace and Darcy, as well as Yoga Sculpt with Courtney.
In the summer, you’ll find her swimming as much as possible, and once winter arrives, she’s off skiing. Wild Soul is a place where fitness fits into her life — energizing, fun, and something she genuinely looks forward to.
When asked to describe Wild Soul in one word, Edie’s answer was simple and perfect: Fun.
Help us celebrate Edie this week! Next time you see her in class, say hello (coffee permitting 😉), cheer her on, or ask her about her latest home project — there’s always one.
With gratitude,
The Wild Soul Fitness Team 💛

A Heartfelt Thank You as We Close Out 2025 🥰🌵
12.31.25
Dear Wild Souls,
As we come to the close of this year, we’re filled with deep gratitude—and honestly, a little awe—at what has grown here in such a short time.
What started as a chance meeting and a shared dream quickly turned into something real. Two women came together with a vision for something different, and in under six weeks, Wild Soul opened its doors. On June 8, we welcomed you into our very first class and by the end of that month 99 Founding Members showed they believed in us!
Since then, this community has shown up in the most incredible ways.
In just six short months:
- 580 unique individuals stepped into Wild Soul and made this space their own
- 9,930 total classes were booked
- Strength became our most-loved offering, with over 5,200 strength class bookings
- Barre, Pilates, Yoga (and fusion styles), and Cardio/Dance followed closely behind—showing just how much this community loves to explore and move in different ways
This tells us what we’ve always believed to be true: Wild Soul is a place where people feel safe to try, to grow, and to keep coming back.
As we close out 2025, we want to take a moment to express our gratitude.
To our Instructors—thank you for being the heart of this studio. Your knowledge, care, and presence shape every experience within these walls. You lead with intention, create space for confidence, and make every member feel seen. This community exists because of you.
And to our Members and Guests—thank you for trusting us, supporting us, and helping Wild Soul become what it is today. Whether you’ve been here since day one or just recently walked through our doors, you are an essential part of this story. We believe in you as much as you believe in us!
As we look ahead, we’re excited to continue growing, evolving, and creating more opportunities to move, connect, and feel strong—together.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for being part of the Wild Soul journey.
With so much gratitude,
Heather + Candace

This Week’s Wild Soul Story: Meet Katherine ✨
12.29.25
Hi Wild Souls,
This week’s spotlight is extra special — we’re featuring Katherine, a dedicated mom of four, Pilates + barre enthusiast, and (fun bonus!) sister to your Wild Soul Co-Founder, Candace. She brings warmth, humor, and hype-girl spirit to every class she joins.
🌿 Meet Katherine
Katherine’s life is full — four kids, busy workdays, and a house that’s always buzzing — but she somehow manages to keep weekends centered on fun with her family. She’s a master at squeezing chores between work meetings during the week so that Saturdays and Sundays can be all about living, not laundry.
Lately, she’s especially proud of making it through Christine’s entire upbeat Pilates class with ankle weights — an accomplishment worth shouting from the rooftops.
A few emojis she uses to describe herself?
💛 Sister first (one of her favorite roles!)
🎉 Hype girl energy
🤍 Fierce love for her people
And if you’ve ever taken class with her… it all checks out.
💼 Her Work + Daily Life
Katherine works as an Enterprise Risk Project Manager for a regional bank — a role that involves big-picture thinking, steady organization, and lots of decision-making.
Outside of work, she has her eye on a new project: leveling up her gardening skills. With so much potential around her home, she’s hoping this spring will be her season of curb-appeal magic and fresh blooms.
☕️ Fun Facts + Personality
- Coffee person through and through — she brews a big pot every morning and sips it all day
- 100% a morning person (she has four kids, so really, what choice is there?)
- Loves spending weekends making memories with her family
She’s grounded, busy, joyful, and full of the kind of energy that lifts a room.
💪 Her Wild Soul Journey
Right after turning 40 — just one month later — Wild Soul officially opened. For her birthday, her friend Stacia gifted her a 3-month Founding Member package, and that was it… she was hooked.
Her favorite classes?
Barre and Pilates — especially thanks to the instructors who make movement feel empowering, fun, and surprisingly addictive.
Wild Soul fits perfectly into her life:
- Great classes
- Easy, free parking
- A schedule that supports the rhythm of a busy family
And the community? That’s what keeps her showing up with a smile.
💛 Her Wild Soul Crew
She loves seeing familiar faces in class — especially:
Sarah, Candace, Stacia, Norma, and Juliet!
Her support squad, cheerleaders, and partners in sweat.
Help us celebrate Katherine this week! Next time you see her in class, give her a smile, a high-five, or ask her how that gardening project is coming along.
Would you like to be featured next? We would LOVE to learn more about each and every one of you! Please email Candace today (candace@wildsoulfitness.com)

This Week’s Wild Soul Story: Meet Michaela ✨
12.23.25
Hi Wild Souls,
Each week, we’re highlighting a member who brings something special to our community. Today, we’re excited to spotlight Michaela — a dedicated teacher, podcast lover, soon-to-be bride, and a familiar warm presence in classes across the schedule.
⚾️ Meet Michaela
If you’ve ever chatted with Michaela after class, you know she’s full of great stories — but here’s one you might not expect: she’s a huge Red Sox fan and knows how to keep a full baseball scorebook.
Her outlook on life is beautifully simple and rooted in trust:
“Everything happens for a reason, and what’s meant to be will be.”
Outside of school and the studio, Michaela is soaking up the excitement of planning her wedding (one of her current joyful projects!) and dreaming about careers she’d also love — like event planning or podcasting.
🍎 Her Work + Purpose
Michaela teaches tenth-grade history, a dream that began when she was little. During a classroom moment as a kid, she looked around and thought, “This could be good.”
And it turned out to be more than good — it turned into her calling.
Her calm presence, grounded mindset, and natural curiosity shine through everything she does.
🎧 Fun Facts + Personality
- Favorite podcast: Crime Junkies — and she loves the books by its host, Ashley Flowers
- Go-to drink: Lavender latte with skim milk
- If she could master one skill instantly: learning different languages
- 100% a dog person
- Biggest hype person in class: her mom!
💪 Her Wild Soul Journey
When Michaela’s previous gym shut down unexpectedly, she didn’t hesitate — the moment she heard Candace was opening a new space, she knew Wild Soul would be her next fitness home.
A moment that recently made her smile?
The official grand opening party — a night full of energy, excitement, and community.
What she loves most is that no matter when her day allows her to move, there’s always a class waiting for her. And with so many options on the schedule, she gets to switch things up every time she walks in.
What keeps her coming back?
“The variety of classes.”
And in one word, she describes Wild Soul as: Community.
Help us celebrate Michaela this week! If you see her in class — especially alongside her mom — give them both a smile or a cheer.
In strength + soul,
Candace & Heather

This Week’s Wild Soul Story: Meet Danielle ✨
12.16.25
Hi Wild Souls,
Each week, we highlight a member who brings something unique, vibrant, and inspiring to our community. Today, we’re thrilled to spotlight Danielle — a marketing expert, real estate agent, dedicated mom, early riser, and a steady source of energy in our morning classes.
🌿 Meet Danielle
Danielle’s story is full of intention and courage. Two years ago, she stopped drinking to support her mental health and reduce anxiety — a life shift she describes as “one of the best decisions I’ve made.”
Her creative outlet blends right into her work: real estate marketing and social content creation. With over 10 years in marketing, she loves using her skills to build her own brand and express herself creatively.
On weekends (or whatever resembles downtime), you’ll find her working out, watching whatever is trending on Netflix, catching a podcast, or simply navigating the busy, beautiful chaos of life.
Her guiding motto?
“Create value, stay genuine, and show up consistently.”
And she does — every single time.
She’s especially proud lately of finding more balance between work and home, and embracing flexibility… even if it means bringing her son to showings. “I’ve learned it’s okay to show up as my whole self,” she says — and that’s a lesson worth celebrating.
💼 Her Work + Purpose
Danielle wears two hats: Corporate Marketing Professional and Real Estate Agent with William Raveis — and she thrives in both.
She first imagined becoming a broadcast journalist, but a college introduction to public relations (marketing without the math, as she says) sparked a new path. From creating commercial ads to managing production budgets, she built a career rooted in creativity, storytelling, and leadership.
Real estate entered the picture after she experienced a difficult personal transaction and felt deeply supported by her agents. She thought, “Maybe I could help people like this too.”
With her full-time job being remote, she gave it a try — and ended up loving it.
She now helps buyers, sellers, renters, businesses, and even homeowners who won’t be ready to move for a year or more. She guides, advises, prepares, connects, and supports — long before a sign ever goes in the yard.
And this year is shaping up to be big: she just joined a larger, high-volume real estate team that’s pushing her, teaching her, and opening new doors.
If she ever changed careers? She knows she’d shine as a therapist or a lawyer.
💛 Fun Facts + Personality
- Music: Sabrina Carpenter, Ariana Grande, and anything Christmas
- Shows: Stranger Things, The Witcher, and all the holiday + Harry Potter baking competitions
- Books: Recently finished The Housemaid series
- Podcasts: Theo Von + Call Her Daddy
- Go-to drink: Black coffee or a cappuccino
- Morning person: 9 p.m. bedtime, no shame
- If she could master anything: Languages
- Home vibe: A stylish circus — 3 dogs, growing garden, lots of love
💪 Her Wild Soul Journey
Danielle found Wild Soul during a season of trying different studios through ClassPass. After six months of bouncing around, she was finally ready to “settle down” — and Wild Soul immediately felt right. The variety, the energy, and the welcoming vibe stood out.
Her favorite class style?
Strength — 100%.
She can maintain at home, but when she wants to really push herself, the studio is where it happens.
A recent moment that made her smile:
During a class, an instructor accidentally skipped a movement in the set. The entire room — out of breath — immediately went, “No, no!”
No one wanted to do the move, yet everyone was too dedicated to let it slide. It turned into a hilarious, very human moment that perfectly captures the Wild Soul spirit.
Wild Soul fits into her life as a grounding space, a community hub, and a major support for her mental health. She’s met so many people — her Quinnipiac crew at the Wednesday 9:30 Strength class, fellow real estate agents, and of course, the instructors and Candace.
What keeps her coming back?
“The results and the good company.”
And she sums Wild Soul up in one word:
Energizing.
(and also: simply the best)
Help us celebrate Danielle this week! If you catch her in class — especially a morning strength session — give her a smile, a high-five, or ask her about the wild garden she’s growing at home.
In strength + soul,
Candace + Heather

This Week’s Wild Soul Story: Meet Katelyn ✨
12.9.25
Hi Wild Souls,
Every week, we shine a light on one of the incredible humans who make this community what it is. Today we’re excited to introduce you to Katelyn P — a morning strength-class regular, creative spirit, and one of the warm smiles that brightens our early classes.
🌿 Meet Katelyn
Katelyn is full of wonderful surprises — including the fact that she ghostwrites other people’s wedding vows and speeches for a living. When she’s not helping couples express their deepest feelings, she’s indulging her love for DIY and home design. Lately, she’s been mastering power tools, dreaming up embroidery projects, and exploring New England with her husband and 3-year-old son.
Her personal motto? “Progress over perfect.” And it shows up everywhere, from the pantry she recently redesigned all on her own to the way she approaches movement and life.
💼 Her Work + Purpose
Katelyn is the founder and CEO of Wedding Words by Katelyn, a boutique service helping people communicate exactly what they want to say — with confidence, humor, and heart.
She discovered this calling after helping her dad rewrite her grandfather’s eulogy. When he read the final version, he said through tears, “This is exactly what I wanted to say…I just didn’t know how to put it into words.” That moment sparked something in her — the realization that many people feel deeply but don’t always know how to express it.
Her favorite part of her work? Hearing people’s stories.
💛 Fun Facts + Personality
- Currently obsessed with The Summer I Turned Pretty (Team Conrad forever!)
- Morning person through and through — in bed by 9, up with the sun
- If she could master any skill instantly: a new language
- She wants to love plants, but… “When do you move them to a bigger pot?!”
- Proud dog mom to an adorable mini goldendoodle
💪 Her Wild Soul Journey
A friend recommended Wild Soul, and after struggling to find a studio that matched her old favorite, she gave us a try — and we’re so glad she did.
Strength classes are her go-to, and she especially loved Tasha’s Halloween-themed class with music, lights, and costumes.
Wild Soul has become the way she starts her day — the thing that helps her wake up at 5:30 a.m. and something that supports her mental and emotional health as much as her physical strength.
What keeps her coming back?
“Feel good, do good.”
And in one word, she describes Wild Soul as: Strong.
Help us celebrate Katelyn this week! Next time you see her in class, say hello, cheer her on, or ask her about the pantry she redesigned — it’s impressive.
If you are interested in being featured in our Member Spotlight series, please reach out to Candace right away. We love learning about our members!
